Is it the BeiDou HD8040 released in 2017?
The BeiDou HD8040, released by Huada BeiDou, is a domestically produced baseband and RF integrated SoC chip with complete independent intellectual property rights. From the outset of its development, this chip aimed for the highest industry standards. The HD8040 is the first to support the BeiDou-3 service signals B1C and B2a, and it is compatible with all global civilian navigation systems, including BDS, GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, IRNSS, QZSS, and SBAS. Additionally, it supports multiple-frequency signals such as BDS: B1/B2/B3, GPS: L1/L2/L5, GALILEO: E1/E5a/E6, GLO: L1OF/L1OC/L2OF/L2OC, and IRNSS: SPS-L5.
The HD8040 also integrates a floating-point unit, boosting its computational power by over 40%. As a high-precision navigation and positioning chip, the HD8040 offers sub-meter positioning accuracy in standard single-point positioning mode. When used with ground or satellite-based augmentation, it can achieve centimeter-level or even millimeter-level positioning precision.
Manufacturing Process and Low Power Consumption
The HD8040 is manufactured using a 40nm process, a first in the high-precision field. It combines advanced low-power design technologies, making its power performance outstanding. The continuous positioning power consumption is reduced by 30% compared to previous models, and the minimum standby power can be as low as 1uA.
Rich Peripheral Interfaces and Security Features
The HD8040 is equipped with a range of peripheral interfaces, including CAN, UART, SPI, SQI, I2C, I2S, PWM, ADPCM, USB, 7816, and more, allowing easy integration into various applications. For security, the chip includes data encryption units like DES, AES, and SM4, which are internationally recognized and meet the demands of high-security products.
Cost-Efficiency and Application Scope
The 5.0mm x 5.0mm QFN package reduces the number of external components, lowering both PCB and BOM costs for customers. This chip is widely applicable in various fields, including vehicle management, automotive navigation, wearable devices, marine navigation, GIS data collection, precision agriculture, smart logistics, autonomous driving, and engineering surveying.
